Your beard is like a style icon, an important feature that plays a major role in your first impression. Establishing a proper routine for beard care is essential to ensure your facial hair looks its best and the skin underneath feels fantastic!  Learn all about beard washes, butters, oils, and balms and how to create the best routine for you and your individual style!
BEARD WASH…clean it

Taking care of your facial hair is just as important as shampooing the hair on your head. So, when it comes to choosing a wash for your beard, it's crucial to find a product that is pH-balanced. You want a soap that cleans effectively and preserves your natural oils. Steer clear of harsh detergents and sulfates that can be damaging.
Razors Image offers beard washes that are designed to meet these criteria. They include African Black Soap. Not only is it unscented, but it also boasts a plethora of beneficial nutrients that provide moisture and have antimicrobial properties. With this beard wash, you can ensure your facial hair stays clean, healthy, and nourished.

BEARD CONDITIONING…moisturize it

For protection and growth, you must take care of your beard.  You sleep on it, the weather elements affect it, etc., so moisturizing your beard is key. You need to condition it properly, and that's where oils, butters, and balms come into play. These products provide the perfect opportunity to add the right ingredients that will keep your beard moisturized and looking its best.

Let's start with beard oil. It's incredibly absorbent, which means it gets right to work. Our oils, like jojoba and avocado, are packed with natural plant goodness. These all-natural ingredients add a healthy shine to your beard and help prevent dandruff and breakage.

Now, depending on the style you're going for, fine to medium beards might benefit from beard butter. Butters are like a powerhouse of nutrients for your beard, providing hydration and a touch of hold. Our vegan butters are made with candelilla wax, so not only do they give you excellent hold, but they also won't clog your pores. Plus, they're bee-free, so you can feel good about using them.

If you're looking for a bit more hold, beard balms are the way to go. Our balms contain the same vitamins and nutrients as our butters but also beeswax for a stronger hold. So, a balm will be your best friend if you have a wiry or coarse beard. For further information, check out Beard Grooming 101: The Lowdown on Products and Routine.

BEARD STYLING…shape it

You can collaborate with your barber to craft a beard shape that complements your face. Many guys prefer a beard that is narrower on the sides, with the majority of the growth below, rather than a beard that sprouts in every direction. Check out The Most Popular Beard Styles Throughout the Years for an in-depth review of styles. You can remove split ends and minimize breakage by scheduling regular trims every 4-6 weeks. Opting for professional shaping will make it a breeze for you to maintain the desired style. When it comes to keeping your beard in place, butter and balms are your go-to products. Just remember, balms offer a stronger hold than butter and require daily washing to avoid buildup.

Taking the time to comb your beard is a step that is often neglected. Just like combing the hair on your head, combing your facial hair can polish your appearance. By using a comb, you can make sure that any grooming products you use are evenly distributed throughout every strand. It's important to choose a wide tooth comb or pick, as using a fine tooth comb can lead to breakage and put unnecessary stress on your facial hair. Personally, I recommend opting for wood or round-tipped combs for the best results.

Everyone's skin and facial hair are unique. Work with your barber to identify the ideal beard shape and receive personalized product recommendations. Discuss the frequency of washing your beard each week. It's important to remember to start with a small amount of product and gradually add more if necessary.  Live your best bearded life!  Knowledge makes you sharp on the inside. Applying it makes you sharp on the outside!

Both men and women should prioritize proper skincare, starting with the crucial step of all-natural cleansing. By incorporating the right cleansing bar into your routine, you can effectively combat aging, tackle adult acne, and amplify the benefits of any facial products you intend to use. Get ready for healthier, more radiant skin!
NATURAL OILS ARE IMPORTANT

Various soap options incorporate natural oils to nourish your skin effectively. For instance, Olive Oil contains healthy fats that effectively lock in moisture, ensuring your skin remains hydrated. Additionally, Coconut Oil works wonders by hydrating your skin and maintaining its natural barrier. Shea Butter, Castor Seed Oil, and Maringa Oil are also beneficial as they aid in reducing inflammation, regulating sebum production, and combating acne. Lastly, Avocado Oil is renowned for its moisturizing properties and its ability to promote skin healing.  This blog post, “10 Ways Moringa Oil Helps You Maintain Healthy Skin,” is an excellent resource for learning about Moringa Oil.
AFRICAN BLACK SOAP

The African Black Soap Shampoo is a remarkable solution for enhancing the health of your skin, scalp, and hair. This exceptional product is entirely natural, boasting antifungal and antimicrobial properties.  This oil-balancing formula helps regulate sebum production, leaving you balanced and refreshed.
By providing gentle moisturization and maintaining a pH balance, this soap bar helps prevent the occurrence of acne, leaving your skin clear, smooth, and blemish-free.
This soap is gentle enough for daily use, but it's important to note that it is an all-natural product crafted with earthy ingredients. This soap has a rough texture, unlike the smooth bars commonly found in big box stores. To enhance your experience, we recommend using a washcloth.
Thanks to its pH-balanced formula, this product is gentle enough for daily use. It is particularly suitable for individuals who engage in activities that cause excessive sweating, such as laborers or frequent gym-goers. Check out this blog post, “The Importance of Facial Cleansing for Men,” for more information on why cleansing is so important.

BODY SCRUBS

Scrub bars are an excellent method for exfoliating the skin. They effectively remove dead skin cells, improving skin texture and complexion. Regular exfoliation can also help reduce the occurrence of ingrown hairs. Just like any cleanser, using a scrub bar is a fantastic initial step to enhance the effectiveness of other skincare products you'll be using, such as lotion or beard balm.  Lemon Poppy Seed Scrub Bar has a blend of Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, and Castor Seed Oil. This soap will transport you to a world of indulgence and relaxation. A touch of Lemon Zest and Poppy Seeds gently exfoliate, and the infusion of real lemon juice will leave you revitalized. Remember to moisturize after using any scrub bar.
GOATS MILK BARS
Rosemary and Cedarwood soap
Goat's milk is rich in vitamin A, B vitamins, calcium, and zinc, all of which contribute to nourishing and protecting the skin. This makes it particularly beneficial for individuals dealing with eczema or psoriasis. Moreover, including Dead Sea salt in our soap bar offers additional anti-inflammatory properties, effectively reducing redness and inflammation on the skin.

This Rosemary & Cedarwood soap is especially good for anti-aging, and contains goats milk for essential nutrients to aid with complexion... this soap is luxurious-deluxe!! This soap can soothe irritated skin, redness, puffiness, and leave you feeling smooth!

CLAY SOAPS
Coconut Body Bar

French red and green clay are known for their ability to absorb impurities and toxins from the skin. This detoxifying effect helps improve the overall complexion and enhances circulation. So, if you want to give your skin a healthy boost, these clays are worth considering!

With a generous amount of natural lauric acid, this Coconut Hair and Body Bar will thoroughly cleanse hair and skin, effectively removing dirt and bacteria. Our formulation has extra coconut oil, so you can rest assured that it won't leave your skin feeling dry or uncomfortable. Thanks to its slower oxidation process, this bar outlasts many other soaps. Smart and sustainable!

By incorporating the appropriate cleansing bar into your daily skincare regimen, you can effectively combat the signs of aging, address adult acne concerns, and enhance the efficacy of any facial products you plan to utilize.  Now that you know the advantages of various types of natural cleansers, you can make informed decisions for your skincare routine.
